Project name:
Project of common interest of implementation of harmonised River Information Services (RIS) in the area of inland waterway networks on the Slovak stretch of Danube – IRIS Europe II.
Project duration:
January 2009 – December 2011
Programme:
Project is co-financed by the European Union from the TEN-T Programme budget.
The beneficiaries are ministries of transport of 9 European countries. Slovak beneficiary is Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications of the Slovak Republic. The project is executed by the Consortium of companies consisting of Research Transport Institute (VUD, a.s.) and company KIOS s.r.o.
Project objective:
IRIS Europe II is the continuation of the IRIS Europe project (01/2006 – 12/2008). It continues in expansion and enhancement of RIS within an extended geographical and functional scope. IRIS Europe II will contribute to establish safe, secure and efficient transport on the European waterway network bringing advantages to governmental users as well as users in the logistics sector.
